About

io wu’s works appear calm and refined on the surface, yet these forms are not meant to comfort. They function as a cover through which hidden violence is both concealed and pointed toward. Her practice asks how consumption becomes imperceptible when violence is aestheticized, speed replaces time, and distance is reduced to immediacy. Working with natural materials as co-authors and starting from craft, she resists compressed temporal structures, allowing loss, contradiction, and imbalance to remain visible.
