Follow the Flow is a bilingual artist’s book documenting io wu’s field journeys through Nepal and China. It gathers real stories and daily observations around rivers, wells, and domestic water rituals, revealing how water carries local wisdom, belief, and labor.

By observing how people fetch, store, and use water, the book traces how geography and social structure shape intimate relationships with this essential element. It is both a travelogue and an ethnographic reflection on how water defines community and belonging.

Let It Go continues the journey on the sea. Written during an artist residency in the Netherlands, the book was created while living on a sailboat — drifting, observing, and writing amidst tides and wind.

It reflects on the act of letting go: surrendering to movement, weather, and uncertainty. Through poetic fragments and sensory notes, the book contemplates water’s vastness — how it dissolves boundaries between self and nature, memory and forgetting.
